(December 31, 2003) — SPENCERPORT — Spencerport narrowly
outscored Wayne to finish in first place at the 38th Annual Teike/Bernabi
Tournament in Spencerport on Tuesday. Spencerport scored 185.5 points
to Wayne’s 173.5.
Mike
Terenzi of Wayne won an overtime decision at 145 pounds over Sam
Konigsberg of Centennial, 6-5.
Teammate
Matt Legas won at 160 when he pinned Rush-Henrietta’s Sam
Rivera in 3:58.
At
215, Spencerport’s Alex Baxter pinned Frank Zielinski of Fredonia
in 3:14.
For
Wayne, Josh Patterson (125) and Joe Zaso (171) won their respective
weight classes to help the Eagles.
Patterson
was named the most outstanding wrestler. Baxter had the most pins
in the least amount of time - four in 9:17.
