Staff reports (December 8, 2005) — It's still very
early in the Monroe County wrestling season, but the 152-pound
bout in Spencerport's 49-10 rout of Greece Olympia sure meant
a lot to Chris Vigliotti.
The junior edged Olympia's Phil
Lombardo, 7-6, in overtime to avenge a 7-0 loss in last year's
SuperSectionals. The victory moved the Rangers to 5-1 on the
season.
Spencerport's loss came last weekend at the Waverly
Duals in the Southern Tier. The Rangers were surprisingly
overwhelmed by the reigning small-school state champion, 48-22.
Spencerport returns to action again Dec. 16-17 at the Jamestown
Tournament at SUNY Fredonia. |
